Sustainability

At Law Comfort we understand the importance of sustainable practices in manufacturing and try our best to achieve the same. The Humphrey Law factory in Heathmont where Law Comfort socks are made has 357 solar panels installed on the roof which generates 100kW of electricity. This equates to every second sock made at the factory only using solar power. We also use solar water heaters to heat the water required for post processing steps like dyeing and washing.

During the past few years, we have improved our production processes by evaluating, planning and developing new strategies. This involved steps like procuring better efficient machines, improving the production flow and frequent product inspections. This has helped us to reduce the wastage produced by more than 3%.

We reuse carboard boxes, cardboard yarn cones and plastic yarn cones in the factory whenever possible. All the unusable paper and cardboard waste are collected and sent for recycling.

The COOLMAX® yarn that we use to make our socks are made using COOLMAX EcoMade Technology  by The Lycra Company. These fibers are made from 100% recycled resources and offers permanent moisture wicking performance.

The following figures* show how COOLMAX® EcoMade yarn is made by The Lycra Company from 100% recycled textile waste and PET bottles. For more information, please visit: https://www.coolmax.com/en/business/search-technologies/coolmax-ecomade-fiber
